Microsoft Hacked 2005 [Again]

Yes, it’s true: Microsoft Software has been hacked… again. Just hold back you gasp of surprise, however, because this time it is at least amusing!
Hack can upgrade XP Home to XP Pro Lite | The Register
German computer magazine C’T claims that by changing only 2 bytes from the file setupreg.hiv in Windows’s XP Home kit, users can get access to certain functions only avalaible [sic] in Windows XP Professional, such as Remote Desktop, User management and enhanced security features.
Can anyone else see the irony of hacking your copy of windows to get “enhanced security features”? ;)
Of course, following CT’s advice would be a breach of your Windows license and I couldn’t possibly condone it. It would be a bad thing to do. Software piracy is evil. And anyway… I already have XP Pro :p
