Korean Schoolchildren and the Japanese Dogs

Aw, isn’t it nice to see schoolchildren making lots of cute drawings of how they see the world? (via the Peking Duck)
Here’s a display of photos at a Korean Subway Station.

[OK, now click and check them out, otherwise the rest of this post won't make much sense]
Doesn’t the work of children bring tears to your eyes?
Well, yes it sorta does actually. These images would be shocking enough if they had been produced by adults, but no, they’ve been born by children. What kind of a teacher promotes this kind of hatred against another nationality?
Whatever happened to the innocence of youth? What instructions must the teacher have given in order to get drawings like these back? Hummmm ::nick thinks to himself, imagining the classroom scene as the teacher explains about the “Japanese dogs” and gives a monstrously biased account of the situation, “now children, we will draw how the glorious Repbulic of Korean will destroy the puny Japanese invaders”:: hum, yes, that sounds about the sort of level of what must have been said.
I have lots of thoughts on this topic but I will save them until I have more time and I can write something more appropriate, thoughtful, and lengthier…
