So depressing that bus loads of people are quite happy to sign up for a petition without any idea or what it’s about; even people who disagree with it are quite happy to sign up! (to cut / burn down all the trees in Yellowstone National Park as it happens).

Actually the video is part of the great Yes Bush Can Campaign 2004, and you’ll find it only gets more depressing as you go through the movies.

The movies are the work of the Yes Men. These guys seem to be making some serious headway into the genre of internet political protesters through their clever use of parody; something like ‘Trigger Happy TV meets Yes Minister’.

They have their own alternative WTO page (by this I mean a parody page that people were foolish enough to believe was real) and have managed to get themselves invited to events, during which they totally take the piss and then write about the results. The movies are seriously well done and they make you laugh,… until you realise that you should probably be crying twiceover, once for the issues they are dealing with and again because there are so many people that believe this is legit. :)
