Google Earth

Ok, I am totally in love with Google Earth!
Fun things I’ve been doing:
- Looking round area 51
- Hunting for terrorists in the Sahara desert
- Whistle-stop tour of several North Korean Military bases
- found my houses (and realised that it’s submerged in greenery :O )
- Relived past travel itineraries
- Tracked and measured my daily route to lectures (ok, that last one is quite pathatic, isn’t it!)
I know that many people distrust Google and dislike the potential monopoly they are builign but, after all they did reinvigorate the internet with their search engine. In my opinion Google Earth and Google Print are the two most important developments on the internet today, they both have the potential to completely change the way we study, research, and share information. I mean Google earth reminds me of the Globe software in the sci-fi novel Snow Crash, and is totally amazing.
Anyway, I thought it might be fun to contribute to this amazing thing that Google have created, so here’s my first Google Earth placemark set:
- CamSide Collection - the [almost complete] set of Cambridge boathouses and information on them
