nick’s (n)-line life

This is quite old but has been sitting in my "draft" folder for some time and is quite entertaining. It's about the fluffy little bunnies and other such things: I seem to have a lot of veggie friends at the moment (or at least I did before I posted this). I don't claim to understand the whole process but I guess I don't have a problem with it in general (although getting dragged to veggie-only restaurants isn't among my favourite thing in the world). What I don't understand is selective vegetarianism… although this is probably a reaction to my sister who eats everything except "cute animals" :/ Other interesting varients I've heard of include "vegetarian except bacon sarnies" and other amusements include people, while travelling in Asia, who have been given chicken after saying they don't eat meat (clearly 'meat' is linguistically and conceptually different to 'poultry'!)

It's all so complicated, but it's always fun to find vegetarian beer-drinkers and point out the animal derivaties used to make pretty froth, guarenteed to cause heavy sulking in many cases.

Food is food after all, and I think I fit into the same catagory as Guangdong-ers; other Chinese have a saying that Guandong people:

will eat anything with legs except a table and anything with wings except an aeroplane.
