The Site
nick’s n-line life is an ongoing account of the experiences, thoughts, and irrationalities of Nick Cook. The site's content retains a strong focus on China and SE Asia with a dash of technology and ongoing contemplations on the Human Rights movement.
Please do, subscribe to my RSS feed, make comments, and look around the site there’s no promise of consistency of content, my aim is to post things I find interesting in the hope that others might be interested. Blogging, to me, is the expression of one's thoughts and opinions via a personal and mobile publishing platform and this site aims to achieve exactly that.
The Author
Nick is 23-year-old Cambridge graduate currently studying for the legal exams (PCLL) at the University of Hong Kong. He is due to complete a two year postgraduate Master of Chinese studies in 2009 and thereupon start work as a trainee solicitor in Hong Kong. Everyone is welcome, and in fact encouraged, to disagree with Nick. At the end of the day he's used to being told that he's 'just another clueless foreigner' by people who should really know better. Nick also has a nasty streak of geek and loves all things technical as well as photography and travel. Somewhere he picked up an unfortunate social conscience and continues to enjoy speaking about himself in the third person.

Technical
There are definite Internet Explorer related CSS bugs on this page. While I'd like to fix them they're low priority and in many ways a fitting punishment for those using a non-standards-compliant browser. If you find them annoying then please do shout at me about it, although they might disappear faster if you switch to firefox… Oh yes, the site's also slow… I blame wordpress :P (but seriously it's the theme and all the javascript… reducing the download size is on my 'to do' list). This site is running a copy of Wordpress 2 using a customised version of 3k2 theme (based on K2) with conforms to XML and CSS standards.
